ELA

In Second Grade our ELA program is "Journeys". There are two readers we will use during the school year. 

Children should read the story each night on "Think Central"

The week of May 25th we will be on  Lesson 22  "Gloria Who Might Be My Best Friend". Study Key Vocabulary word and definitions. We will not have a Reading test on Comprehension of Story, Vocabulary and Phonics on

We will have a No Spelling test on Lesson 22  

On the Tic -Tac-Toe study guide sheet in the W copybook you will see Spelling and review words. The children will need to know how to spell these words for the test. Please review study sheet in ELA and W copybook. Please review them each evening. I will also review the words in class.

On the Study guide sheet for Reading you will see Story Vocabulary and Definitions this needs to be studied. This work will be covered in the Unit test. The children do not need to know how to spell the Vocabulary words.

The children will take home the Reading text book called "Journeys". I ask that you review the story each evening.

Parents, please oversee spelling of words and neatness of work completed for homework.

Parents, It is important that each night that your child is reading for 15 minutes. They should be enjoying a book that they like to read. Everyday after lunch we have DEAR time quiet reading time. This is the time when the children enjoy reading a chapter book.

Go to nearpod.com when the link comes up go to Students join a lesson and put in the   Code  WAOTU  (all capital letters).

The children can learn about Adjectives.

              Please remind your child not to move forward in writing cursive letters                we have not learned in class.
